The legendary FIFA series has been produced by EA SPORTS for over 20 years, and is now the largest sports video game franchise on the planet. FIFA brings The World’s Game to life, letting you play with the biggest leagues, clubs, and players in world football, all with incredible detail and realism. Whether you want to build your dream squad in FIFA Ultimate Team, lead your favorite club to glory in Career Mode, take the game back to the streets with EA SPORTS VOLTA FOOTBALL, or get bragging rights over a friend in Kick-Off Mode, the FIFA series lets you play The World’s Game your way.
I created a dashboard to compare all players and teams in the game based on different criteria with the help of PowerBI which I learned from scratch, using stunning, interactive data visualizations.
FIFA includes players from all over the world with 162 countries participating in the game and each country has several clubs with each, a maximum of 33 players. I’ve selected one of the top countries as a small example in the table below where we can find the number of clubs in a certain country along with its number of players and its world rank.
Below, you’ll find a Picture of a map highlighting the countries selected above.
PREFERRED FOOT
Football is the most popular sports in the world with more than 240 million players worldwide. FIFA is also considered to be the most popular game in the world played by Men, women, children and adults.
Performance level of the players in this game depends upon a variety of factors including their level of skill, their physical, their degree of motivation, and tactics applied by them against their opponents. A high level of all these factors leads them to better players.
While playing, most soccer players tend to have a preferred foot with which they would receive, control and kick the ball as shown in the pie chart below.
PLAYER POSITION
The positions in this game are one of the basic fundamentals to know, whether you are familiar with football or not. The general positions are goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and forward.
- GK: Goalkeeper
- D: Defender (Centre-back, Sweeper, Full-back, Wing-back)
- M: Midfielder (Centre midfield, Defensive midfield, Attacking midfield, Wide midfield)
- F: Forward (Centre forward, Second striker, Winger)
AGE DISTRIBUTION
Professional Football teams usually consist of players from a wide age range. In the four major European professional Football leagues, Bundesliga (Germany), Premier League (England), Serie A (Italy), and La Liga (Spain), most players are between 21 and 29 years old as shown below. Moreover, there is a general belief that players usually peak somewhere in their mid to late twenties. Thus, the age of professional football players and at which age professional football players peak seems to be an important variable of interest not only to analysts and sport scientists, but also managers, coaches and of course for us (FIFA players). We tend to focus on young players with talent in case we want to create our own team.
THE GREATEST RIVARLY
The current era of soccer is dominated by two giants: Juventus’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi. The two nemeses have scooped every individual award over the past decade, and despite their advanced ages (35 and 33, respectively), they show no signs of slowing down. As there can be only one, which of them is it? The phenomenal Portuguese Ronaldo or the one-team man Lionel Messi?
Both Ronaldo and Messi have impressive stats, but a closer look at them proves Messi make decisions better and, more importantly, brings greater value to his team.
HOW PLAYERS ARE VALUED
In recent years, transfer fees paid by football clubs to acquire the services of a player have sky-rocketed. From Italian forward Guiseppe Savoldi’s world record fee of £1.2million in 1975 to Cristiano Ronaldo’s world record £80 million move in 2009, transfer fees have been climbing at a high rate. In FIFA, a player is valued based on two categories: Age and Talent (Rate).
AGE – younger player has more career time than an older player therefore will have a higher valuation. Looking at it from a depreciation point of view, chances are younger players price will increase as they develop whereas older players will lose value.
In the graph below the dot with highest value is Neymar, Age 27 with a value of 105.500.000 million pounds.
TALENT – This is of course the main aspect to a player’s valuation. A talented player will require a higher transfer fee.
The two best players with both a high rate and value are Neymar and Messi.

CONCLUSION
FIFA 20 remains a gorgeous and fun-to-play football game ( which is the most important thing) that’s as addictive as ever. The addition of Volta adds some much-needed variety and the quick matches filled with skills and elaborate game celebrations are fun.
The developers in charge of gameplay have done just about all they can do to make this title a joy on the virtual pitch. It’s shortcomings are because of a lack of innovative improvements to core modes. That keeps it as a really good game, but a notch below great.
